The images below are screen captures of storms in the Texas/Oklahoma area on March 4, 2004.

Note the quality of the images, the street level mapping, the projected paths of the severe storm cells, and the expected time of arrival at locations in their path.

In the following image, note the "orange discs" indicating rotating winds - the NWS did eventually issue tornado watches and warnings during the course of the storm.

You can identify each street by placing your cursor on the map.  In the following graphic you can see "I20" just above the Tracks button.

The next image was also captured on March 4, 2004.  In addition to illustrating storm tracking, note the color-coded lightning information:

WHITE lightning   - - indicates lightning that occurred within the last 5 minutes

YELLOW lightning - - indicates lightning occurred within the last 10 minutes

ORANGE lightning - - indicates lightning that occurred within the last 15 minutes
